About the New Zealand Family Fund
1. Families with a terminally ill child. 2. Families with a disabled child. 3. Single parent families 4. Families that have recently suffered the death of a loved one. The financial strain of taking care of a disabled child, a terminally ill child or raising a family alone often prevent struggling families from taking time to rest. Families grieving over the loss of a loved one often lack the emotional strength to plan a critically needed break from day to day life. The funds raised from this trip will allow these families to rest and return to their lives refreshed. The Global Volunteer Network will choose each family based on recommendations from appropriate agencies (cancer and disabled children's centers, single parent support organizations and grief counseling centers). Families chosen will receive an expense paid vacation that will include an accommodation voucher, a petrol voucher, a food voucher and an entertainment voucher. Life struggles are wearying. The Global Volunteer Network hopes to provide the individuals of these families with a respite from their worries and a chance to reconnect with each other. |
