Climb Mt Kilimanjaro (2008)
You now have the opportunity to not only help educate the children of Uganda but also quench your thirst for travel and adventure. Global Volunteer Network has created a fundraising hike to Mount Kilimanjaro. In addition to climbing one of the world's highest mountains, participants of the Mount Kilimanjaro Climb will have the satisfaction of knowing that their money will go directly to the construction of a school for disadvantaged youth and AIDS orphans in Uganda, Africa. Participants of this fundraiser will also have the opportunity to journey to Uganda where they will have the chance to volunteer in the community their funds will directly benefit.
This fundraiser is dedicated to helping our partner organization construct a secondary school in the village of Buloba, Uganda. In the surrounding county there are many disadvantaged youth and AIDS orphans. Our partner's aim is to improve access to secondary education for these children by building a secondary school and subsidizing the costs of attending this school. Committing your time and money to this fundraiser will help ensure that our goal of $80,000 USD, to build and help maintain the school, is speedily met.
Therefore the Global Volunteer Network's Mount Kilimanjaro Climb offers participants the opportunity to hike to the top of one of the most beautiful and prestigious mountains in the world, the knowledge that their efforts and money will directly benefit hundreds of children, and the advantage of seeing the fruits of their labor firsthand in Uganda, Africa.
