Location and Dates of the Climb

Draped along the greatest heights of the Himalayas, the kingdom of Nepal is a land of sublime scenery, timeworn temples, and some of the best walking trails on earth. The kingdom is sandwiched between India, to the south, and China and Tibet, to the north.

Nepal is a developing country and very poor compared to developed nations. Very few westerners, apart from explores and climbers, ever visited Nepal until the 1970s.

Although there are a few parts of the capital that appear modern, most of Nepal is a very traditional society that depends on subsistence farming, although tourism provides significant income in some areas.

Participants of The Mount Everest Base Camp Climb will be asked to locate their own flights to Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal.

The 2006 climb will start on the 29th of September and finish on the 19th of October 2006
