GVN Change Makers - Leadership Program

Whether you plan on volunteering or have just returned from one of our programs, our GVN Change Makers leadership program should be seriously considered. The program is designed to equip you with the appropriate skills and knowledge to effect change in needy communities around the world.

This is a full month program based in Wellington, New Zealand and is designed to provide people with leadership skills which are effective in bringing about change wherever they are.

If you have a willingness to do what it takes to effect change in the world let this new program be your stepping stone.

.: The Program

The GVN leadership program uses a range of different learning styles and is flexible enough to allow each participant to explore their individual goals. The program covers the following leadership areas:
  • The art of leadership
  • The Leader in you
  • Becoming a change maker
  • Community Development
  • People/Team management
  • Project development
  • Personal development
  • Your life's focus
Please note: College credits are available through some colleges/universities.

.: Program Location

New Zealand's capital city, Wellington, is perched on the shores of a deep natural harbour surrounded by wooded hills.

.: Program Requirements

Volunteers for the GVN Leadership program must have:
  • A strong desire to effect change
  • A willingness to do what it takes

.: Program Schedule

The GVN Leadership Program is only available during the month of November in 2006 and is strictly limited to eight places to allow maximum individual attention. The course is a one month live in program and is located in Wellington, New Zealand.

.: Program Cost

The cost of the program are as follows:

Global Volunteer Network - Application Fee: US $350.00. The application fee covers administration, marketing, and communication expenses. (This fee is waived for all ex GVN Volunteers).

GVN Leadership Program Fee
  • Cost for 1 month will be US $1500.00.

.: Application Process

All, applicants will be notified by email as to whether their application has been successful.

1) Complete the Application Form: Fill out the application form via the link below. Upon receipt of the form we will assess your suitability for the program.

2) Contact You: If you are successful we will then email you a letter of acceptance.

3) Decision Point: Once you have read through the letter of acceptance and we have answered any questions or concerns that you might have, it is time to pay your application fee to secure your place on the program. Please note that we will refund your application fee if you decide not to go.

4) Confirmation: Once the application fee is paid, our volunteer partner will contact you to ensure everything is organized. We will also send you the link to our program guide which covers topics such as: country information, travel links, visa application process, fundraising ideas and much more!

5) Communication & Support: Throughout the application process, we are committed to working with you to answer any of your questions or concerns. During your placement we are also available as a form of support to you as a volunteer and will email you while in country to discuss how the program is going.
