GVN Community Fund - Vietnam Projects

Our partner organisation in GVN, Quoc An, are going to build a fund for orphanage and street children. The fund will help to cover the the following things:
  • To provide meals to around 200 children
  • To build house for streetchildren
The Hoa Mai Orphanage has 50 children aged from 6 to 16. So far, the government has been providing each children with 30 cents per day to cover their meals. In the past, the administrators of the orphanage have been able to afford enough food for the children's meals. However, this has become more difficult as the children grow, while the government funding has not increased. As a result of this, the children now have to eat very simple food that lacks the necessary nutrients. Our aim is to build a fund to buy more food for the children.

The Street Children Program looks after 150 children in central Da Nang. Some of these children's parents are in prisons, and they are homeless as a result, while others have divorced parents who are unable to support them. These children are forced to live in temporary houses on government land, which do not provide them with adequate shelter or safety. Our partner intends to build basic houses for these children. Each house costs US $700. The houses will be provided to the divorced mother or father or to parents who have returned from prison, so they can have accommodation for their children.
